Layered teal and amber forms flowing toward light

School-based regulation • Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Every person deserves to be known for more than their hardest moments.

The student whose outbursts overshadow their curiosity. The teacher whose exhaustion hides their enthusiasm. There is more to their story—and more possibility when we learn to see it.

Understanding the nervous system helps us recognize the person beyond the response—and build school communities where students and adults have the support to learn, connect, and grow.

Inner Light Education Collective partners with school leaders and educators to bring trauma-informed understanding and daily regulation practices into school life—supporting stress resilience, belonging, and learning across the school community.

20 years in
public education

Great schools begin with supported teachers and staff.

Staff well-being shapes school culture. Educators need support they can feel and use themselves.

Through nervous-system science and daily regulation practices woven into the school or workday, staff build stress resilience, deepen connection, and experience the approaches they bring to students.

The Inner Light approach

Regulation in the classroom goes beyond calm.

Regulation helps students access what school is there to offer: learning. It supports their ability to focus, connect with others, work through challenges, and engage with new ideas.

A student can be quiet and still feel overwhelmed. Regulation can look like finding steadiness, renewing energy, asking for support, or returning to a challenging task.

Through nervous-system science and embodied learning, educators explore what students’ responses may communicate and how to offer support that fits the person and the moment.

Developing these abilities takes time, repeated opportunities, and relationships we can rely on. Daily regulation practices help build the conditions for students—and the adults teaching them—to thrive.

Ways to work together

Learning together. Bringing it into school life.

Every school has its own strengths, relationships, and priorities. Our work begins with understanding yours.

01

Whole-school partnership

Collaboration with school leaders and teams to build a shared understanding of regulation and weave it into school culture. Together, we explore how everyday routines, relationships, and environments can support students and staff while strengthening connections with families and the wider community.

02

Professional learning for staff

Trauma-informed learning that connects nervous-system science with educators’ lived experience. Staff experience regulation practices themselves and explore how to bring them into classroom routines, transitions, and interactions throughout the day.

03

Support for individual educators

Space to deepen your understanding, support your own regulation, and connect what you learn with the students and situations you encounter each day.

The focus and format take shape through conversation about your community, your priorities, and what you want to make possible.

Meet Haley Stozek

Regulation & Resilience Specialist and Trainer

Haley Stozek is a Regulation & Resilience Specialist and Trainer who brings together education, yoga therapy, somatic practice, and trauma-responsive care.

I hold a Master of Science in Education (M.S.Ed.) and am a certified yoga therapist, with 12 years of classroom teaching and eight years in school-based mental health.

As an educator, foster parent, adoptive mother of four, and small business owner, I don’t just teach these practices—I rely on them. They have supported my ability to meet challenges, recover, and stay connected to the people who need me. My understanding comes from both professional training and living this work.

I bring warmth, honesty, and humor alongside the science—and respect for the experience you bring. I believe meaningful change grows through relationships, repeated practice, and people who keep showing up for one another.

More about my background

Classroom teaching

Teaching orchestra meant writing curriculum, building programs, and guiding groups of up to 75 fourth graders at a time. I know the creativity, preparation, and responsiveness it takes to help a roomful of different learners participate together.

School-based mental health

My school-based mental health work focuses on helping students with significant emotional and behavioral needs access learning, build relationships, and participate more fully in school. This work has expanded from intensive individual and small-group support into classrooms and staff learning, bringing trauma-informed regulation practices into the environments where students spend their days. That experience keeps what I teach grounded in the daily realities of education.

Training and professional learning

For 10 years, I served as lead trainer of a yoga therapy training program, and am a guest lecturer at Neurogenic Yoga training.

Business ownership and community

A small business owner since 2007, I understand the responsibility of supporting people while keeping an organization moving forward. Building Inner Light Yoga Studios has shaped how I lead, build community, and sustain meaningful work through change.
